The exhibition Art & Activism by Margin Art Media The exhibition Art & Activism by Margin Art Media continues until 6th September at Brixton Library. Come and see it before it closes!

I’m happy to have contributed a selection of six glassworks created through my project From the Fragment to the Whole - giving voice to stories of domestic abuse.

The project invites women who have survived domestic abuse to glassmaking workshops, where we break glass and create from the fragments. Each piece is created by a participant and stands for their untold story of survival, told through material and form.

Now in its 7th year, @fromthefragmenttothewhole is a socially engaged art project that has been supported using National Lottery funding through Arts Council England @acegrams . It continues to be funded through donations from the public and fundraising workshops - the next workshop will be announced soon :)

We are currently fundraising for the next development of the project, offering more women an opportunity to acknowledge their stories and reflect on them creatively through glassmaking.

If you would like to contribute, please go to the link in bio 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

A brief summary of what I have been up to last wee A brief summary of what I have been up to last week at @bildwerkfrauenau cutting into 3D glass to allow a form to emerge through the process😍

Not simply a creative process but also technical - learning to work with the lathes, various stone wheels and the (initially terrifying) saw to remove material.

So much was covered about the different wheels and profiles, how to dress the wheels for the right surface, moving from rough to smooth and back again over and over, grinding, polishing, sculpting through the use of these noisy machines, sprinkling water all over us.

A whole week in this super noisy, wet room wrapped in waterproof aprons and wellies with spinning blades and wheels all over the place …and we loved it 😁

best holiday ever 😎

I concluded that some of us just need a struggle to be happy!

Grateful to @samuelweisenborn for the teaching, guidance, support and patience @the_latheriders

Huge thanks to @alexander.tutsek.stiftung for awarding me the scholarship to attend this course.

Bild-Werk offers so much more than glass (and other materials 😁) courses. It is a fine example of collaboration, mutual support, knowledge sharing and being part of a creative community. Great sense of camaraderie, openness and inspiration. The perfect conditions to expand the creative process 💗

Faith in humanity restored ✔️

So great to share some of this time with the wonderful @natasharedina

Here is to a future collaboration 🎉✨💗

Grateful to the @alexander.tutsek.stiftung for awarding us both a scholarship and making this possible

Thanks to @samuelweisenborn for his tutoring and for generously sharing skills, knowledge, support and lots of inspiring conversations

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼I feel truly blessed
