#3daystogo Back in Coventry preparing for the exh #3daystogo

Back in Coventry preparing for the exhibition From the Fragment to the Whole, launching on International Women’s Day, Sunday 8 March.

The week began in the underground chambers of Coventry Cathedral, and today the installation has moved to higher ground in the beautiful Chapel of Industry.

As I share work originally created from my own personal experience of domestic abuse, I feel as though I’m standing on the shoulders of giants. It’s an honour to have delivered workshops with local women survivors here in the cathedral over the last few weeks.

It’s been a privilege being here, a place of reverence heightened by the sound of bells, choir, and organ music. I couldn’t imagine a more inspiring place to share work that reflects on repair and resilience.

Grateful for the collaboration and hospitality of @coventry_cathedral_events , @coventryhaven22 , and the generous sponsorship of @bullseyeglass and to @cellojulian for the help and support ❀️

Opening on International Women’s Day
8 March – 26 April 2026

I can’t wait to share the new works of From the Fragment to the Whole, created during a four-week residency at @coventry_cathedral with and by local women survivors of domestic abuse.

In one-to-one sessions, stories were shared, witnessed, and translated into glass.
Fragments were broken, arranged, reimagined - becoming part of this growing body of work.
In this process, glass is a collaborator in reflecting and interpreting lived experience.

One participant shared:
β€œI’d had a picture of my heart as having a room full of broken glass which I’d kept tight shut. Now the room of broken glass is open… Then I saw that it was to be made into a beautiful window.
The broken glass is the past pain I haven’t wanted to face, acknowledge, feel.” Margaret.

Come and see how we transformed pain into something beautiful.

Grateful to @coventry_cathedral_events, @coventryhaven22 and @bullseyeglass @lanimcgregor for their support and collaboration.

Week 4 of my art residency at @coventry_cathedral: Week 4 of my art residency at @coventry_cathedral:

I was greeted by a dramatic skyline today β˜€οΈπŸŒ§οΈπŸŒˆwhen I returned to Coventry to complete this series of workshops @fromthefragmenttothewhole

I had taken the wonderful glassworks made by (and with) women survivors of domestic abuse to my London studio for firing.

The joy of seeing the work transformed by the kiln - it never ceases to amaze me ! πŸ’—

I can’t wait to see it all installed in what was once called the Chapel of Industry in the Cathedral (second video) as we are finalising plans for our upcoming exhibition.

A huge thank you to the women who made these works and shared their stories of survival with courage and great humour - it’s such a privilege to run this project in collaboration with @coventry_cathedral_events and @coventryhaven22 with the generous sponsorship of beautiful glass by @bullseyeglass πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Dates to be announced soon!
